"I don't care." He said, he didn't seem to me concerned about his safety. All he wanted to do is find his younger cousin, all though he was severley tired and he wouldnt get far anyway. "You;d understand if you were in the same position as me"

The bat flew alongside the hedgehog, listening carefully, glancing to him breifly out the corner of her eye. "Try me." she frowned, raising herself higher into the air with a swift beat of her wings. As she did so, she cast a shadow over the tiring hedgehog. "If your cause is that mighty, you won't want to collapse half way now do you?"

"I can see im not wanted here...." Angel wings came from his back as he began to fly away.

If perhaps the angel had not been so focused in her concern for the hedgehog she flew over, she might have been stunned to see the fox sprout wings. But yet, no. She wasn't looking. Although this hedgehog was bound to disagree, it was her duty to protect the /weaker/ lifeform. Clearly, the way the fox had pelted the sky with flame, he was capable of looking after himself. But this hedgehog was hastely weakening, if he was prepared to admit it or not.

The hedgehog sighed. "Your little cousin hasn;t been captured and threatened to be killed, has it?" He snapped, quickening his pace. He seemed very determined, and protective of his family member.

Taken by surprise by the sudden change of pace, the bat beat her wings faster against the air, soon catching up. "Can't say it's happened no. But either way, this is a vast wasteland. There's little chance you can make it yourself I'm afraid." she sighed, flying slightly to the hedgie's left. "But I could help you, if you wanted a hand that is?"

"I dont need any help." He snarled, quickening his pace yet again. "I can do this on my own, I do everything on my own!"

The bat's eyes closed in mid flight, her ribbons gaining an aura around them. "I see. So be it." With that, her feet collided sharply with the ground and she vanished. All that was left in her place was a bloodstained white feather, this covered in sand that the hedgehog threw behind him with his high speed dash.
But nearby, a dark blue snake with a line of white down each side crept out from behind a rock. There was one thing a guardian angel had to know how to do, and that was keep yourself hidden. And so she did, lurking not far behind the hedgehog as he ran, keeping a watchful eye on him.

Now that the bat was gone, or so he thought, he stopped running. He was so tired, he seemed to be walking in some sort of a limp. He suddenly stopped, his chest felt as if it was tightning. He started coughing uncontrolably, he fell to his knees. He forced himself to stop, and stood up again. Nothing was going to stop him.

With a soft hiss, the snake made a breif appearance, before diving away again as he got to his feet. If he saw her, and it wasn't necissary, things could have gotten nasty. The more she debated this with herself, the more apparent it was he didn't exactly have the strength to fight her. Before she could make a move though, he was on a feet again. Cursing under her breath, she slithered behind him, keeping her distance. Surely, it was only matter of time until he feel to his knees again.

This was it, he knew things wern't going to go as he planned. He started coughing agan, and fell flat onto the floor. At this stange he seemed to be struggling to breath.

That was the currently snake-formed angels signal to move. With an aura of white, the bat took the snakes place, fluttering to the hedgehogs side and rolling him onto his back, putting a hand on his chest. She unfurled her wings, this working as a shield from the sun so the hedgehog could cool down. The bat gave a light smile, her concern apprent on her features as she pondered just what to do.

The hedgehog was bareley concious, he began coughing again, he half opened his eyes. He saw the blurry image of the bat but didn;t say anything.

The bat's free hand lurked to the hegehog's wrist, her thin fingers locating a pulse on his wrist, monitering it carefully. Medical attention was rarely her thing. She was a guardian not a doctor. But what was there she could do? Ears dropped on their sides, she thought desperatly of how to keep him awake. "What's your name?" she eventually sighed, pushing him into the recovery position, still blocking the sunlight as best she could with her wings.

"B-Buster.." He said, struggling to stay concious. His vision was badly blurred. By the sideaffect or by tears? He didn't know.
