"Aw man! I can't see a thing!" "What's the matter, I thought you liked the dark!" "Leave him alone! We're in enough trouble as it is!"
An echidna, a fox and a hedgehog hybrid stumbled around in the dark, it seemed like the dim glow of the hybrids lightningbolt markings wern't enough to navagate the trio. Suddenly, the deep pink echidna outstretched her abnormaly large angel wings and hovered slightly. Her flowing green top and baggy jeanes flowed gently in the ghostly breeze. "Maybe I can get a better view from the air?" She sugested, flying higher into the moonless sky. No joy, everything was as dark as ever. The fox sighed, placing a hand on her for-head. She appeared to be the youngest out of the group, and the most stressed. Her snow-white arctic pelt was highly noticable umongst the night scene. The bottom of her jeanes covered her cyan trainers, but they were covered with mud along the bottom. Her hot-pink top added the finishing touch to her casual outfit.
The fox looked to the hybrid patheticly, who glanced angrily back at her. "Well what can I do? My eyes arn't adjusting to this darkness so i can barely see!" He snapped. This was true. Usualy his deep purple eyes sliced through the darkness, but now they just remained normal. He was almost invisible, as his deep navy fur blended in perfectley with the darkness. To proove he was a hybrid, he had his very own echidnan tail. His grey and green tennis shoes were also covered in a thick coat of mud.

The train screeched to a halt. Just like that. Stopped, completley. And as this happened, a 20 year old fox, who had taken refuge inside the trains toilet, as she hated to be around others, jerked awake. She had been sitting with the seat down, of course, and she stood up, and grapsed the doorknob, turning it sharply.
As she stepped out, she was almost run over by a stampede of people, trying to get out. A sense of panic tinged the air. Being a ninga, a double agent, an emerald expert and a swordmistress did have it's good points on getting out of tight sweezes like this. She leaped, a few people looking up, and grabbed onto the luggage rack. Punching through the glass fixed onto the door, she was free.
THUMP. Not a good landing. The fox had landed onto the cold railway track. Looking around, there was nothing to be heard. But the she-fox could swear someone was watching her. Moistening her lips, she hoisted herself up onto the deserted platform, and started to make her way down towards Mystic Ruins. It was the only place she knew that was definatley around here.
The girl's name was Vixen, a fox with one tail and ALOT of jobs. She was in her ninga outfit: all dark green. A dark green net body suit, dark green halter neck top, dark green skirt... She had a large sword strapped to her back, and a backpack over the sword. She was a well known Chaos Emerald Specialist.
After a while, she found herself at the foot of the many steps that lead up the to great Master emerald. The slight wind blew on her peach coloured fur, and ruffled her dark purple hair, but she was here atlast.

There was a snapping of a twig and the crackling of some dry leaves. The hybrid was the first to notice this. "Huh?" He stopped, squinting and despratley trying to look around. Another noise came, a deep growling rumbling in somethings throte. "Uh.." He murmered, his voice shakey. He looked around for the others, but they had walked on. "Great april fools, ya'll can come out now.." He said, his voice trembling and glowing green venom dripping from his echidnan fangs as a sign of distression. He backed up. "This isn't funny, Luna! You too, angel!" He snapped, seriousley getting annoyed. But the growling continued.
******
"Great! We've lost buster!" The fox grumbled, looking around for the oldest member of the group. The echidna stopped and looked around. "He'll be okay, he's old enough to look after himself." She convinved the fox. The fox sighed. "Well, it's not him I'm worried about. It's us. My elemental powers can only ward off a few enemys at a time. Buster is the only one who can actually protect us from an ambush!" She scolded the echidna.

As she was about to head up the many steps to observe the great Emerald, Vixen also heard the snapping of twigs and a growling. A breath caught up in her throat. Then she laughed nervously, and a sly grin appeared on her face. "Just my imagination." she said to herself, shrugging the thought off easily. But it came again, then thing getting closer now. It was louder, and that meant nearer.
Taking a relaxing breath, and pretending she didn't hear the noise, Vixen started to climb the steps up to the Master Emerald. As she checked behind her, she could've sworn she just seen a flash of yellow eyes. What was lurking around here? It was all beginning to freak her out now, and her 'climbing' turned into a sprint.

"For petes sake.." The hybrid muttered, stepping back. This was all becoming too real for him. He stepped back a bit more, and could've sworn he felt hot breath on his back so he steped foward. Then he saw the sharp glow of yellow eyes infront of him, and snarling from behind. He really began to panic now. His eyes were wide with fear and his heart was doing impressive somersalts. He saw somthing running towards him from the front, but felt somthing pounce on his from behind. He was knocked from his feet and looked up just in time to see the glinting of fangs approaching his kneck.
******
The fox and the echidna decided to stand their ground to see if their comrad would find his way back. In the end, he did. He finaly limped towards them, his eyes still wide and his body covered with bites and slash marks. The creatures had got him good. The pair rushed towards the petrified male, they helped his stand up striaght before showering him with questions. "What the hell happened?!" The fox asked, her eyes were almost as wide as the seventeen year-old hybrids. But his look said it all. There was somthing out there, somthing that could do a great amount of damage on the group.

Vixen stopped for a rest, closing her eyes, and covering her deep purple eyes. She sighed, a sweatdrop appearing on her forehead. She did all this, only to open her eyes to be face with some sort of fanged creature. "Oh god." she murmered backing away slowly, but it followed her. The brute's top lip was peeled back, baring awful sharp white fangs.

The fox looked to angel. "Well don't just stand there!" She snapped. "Heal him!" The echidna looked to the fox patheticly. "Okay Okay, that's what I was /going/ to do!" She protested. Stranage metalic bands around her wrists and head glew dimley. A gold aurora surrounded the hybrid for a few seconds, it then just stopped with a zapping sound. No improvement seemed to circulate the hybrid, but he appeared to be stabilizing by himself. "Gee, Angel. Your angel magic really seemed to work!" The fox said sarcasticley. The echidna looked down. "Sorry! I've never known any wounds that angel magic can't heal.." She protested.
Rolling her eyes, the fox spoke once more. "Well we'd better get Buster out of here. He's already in a bad enough state as he is." The echidna agreed.

The thing lunged forward, it's sharp teeth ripping through part of the netting over her arm, leaving a deep gash there. She looked at the cut, shaking her head, anger bubbling up inside her. Vixen lunged for her sword behing her back, and returned an injury to the thing, cutting its side. It roared, and she staggered back for a second. "Ha. Realised you can't beat me?" she murmered softly. But it seemed to hear her voice and bit her arm again, just under the other cut.
She screamed in pain, and gave a look of pure venom towards the thing, and slashed her sword wildly, until she caught it and it whimpered and screeched, and hobbled off as fast as it could. Gasping, Vixen threw down her sword and collapsed on the many steps to the Master Emerald, clutching her wounds.
